Day of Silence Sparks Awareness
Wa-Hi’s Gay-Straight Alliance, and other supportive students, participated in an international event called Day of Silence on April 20. This was a day-long activity in which students all across America spent the day in varying levels of self-imposed silence. Some remained tight-lipped all day, others were only quiet in certain classes, and several only joined [...] -

Onlookers Appreciate Downtown Art
The many sculptures that adorn Walla Walla are often glanced at and passed by without a second thought. Does one really know what the names of the pieces are or does one just recognize them as the “dog outside Starbucks,” “the lemon outside Brights” and “the chickens outside Backstage Bistro?” Wayne Chabre Delicate Balance [...] -
Indie Band Surprises Critic
Over the past few years, the rules of beauty have changed. Some little girls want to grow up to be another Kardashian, instead of their mother, or the first female president of the United States. Movies have been reduced to formulaic cornucopias of cliches and CGI mush (e.g. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen). In this [...] -
