Senior Kylee Fullen traveled to Disney World in Orlando to participate in Disney’s Christmas Parade on Dec. 6. Fullen was one of 700 high school senior girls from all over the country to participate in this massive event, which aired on TV on Christmas Day.
“The opportunity was offered to me at a dance camp in Puget Sound,” Fullen said. In fact, seniors girls chosen from all over the nation came together to perform in this event. Fullen, however, was the only dancer from Walla Walla.
Fullen began preparing for the parade four months before the date; she had to learn the dance routine from a video, and then perform that routine in front of judges to determine where she would be placed in the parade. “I danced with over 700 girls, and out of those 700 girls, I was in the fourth row — practically the front,” Fullen said.
Upon her arrival in Florida, Fullen attended two three-hour-long practices. Since all of the dancers had to practice together, there were over 700 girls in that one practice room.
Other than dancing in the parade, Fullen and her family vacationed at Disney World, staying in a Disney hotel, and spending some time in the amusement park.
