The administration of Wa-Hi hired a new security guard as of Sept. 19, named Bob Datton.
Before Datton joined the Wa-Hi staff, he was part of the College Place police force. “I was in law enforcement for 30 years and decided to retire. Then this opportunity came up to leave retirement. I thought my experience would make a good fit,” Datton said.
Datton has been roaming the campus a short few months but has made a few observations. “I am impressed with the student body and all the students in the school. There is a lot of student interaction. We security personnel may be strict, but we are fair. If anyone needs to talk to somebody, we are always available,” Datton said.
Datton’s biggest goal as a security officer is to make sure Wa-Hi has a safe atmosphere for the students.
